And what will be the sign of your advent and of the consummation of the age?” 4 And answering, Jesus said to them: “Pay attention, lest someone lead you astray. 5 For many will come in my name saying, ‘I am the Christ.’ And they will lead many astray. 6 For you will hear of battles and rumors of battles. Take care not to be disturbed. For these things must be, but the end is not so soon. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be pestilences, and famines, and earthquakes in places. 8 But all these things are just the beginning of the sorrows. |

For these things must be, but the end is not so soon. 8 For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom over kingdom, and there shall be earthquakes in various places, and famines. | 7 Then they questioned him, saying: “Teacher, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when these things will happen?” 8 And he said: “Be cautious, lest you be seduced. For many will come in my name, saying: ‘For I am he,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ And so, do not choose to go after them. 9 And when you will have heard of battles and seditions, do not be terrified. These things must happen first. But the end is not so soon.” 10 Then he said to them: “People will rise up against people, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and pestilences, and famines, and terrors from heaven; and there will be great signs. |
